As you can see, ah-yi and mommy have been keeping us very busy with lots to do. So much that we have to take to napping in the car with cousin Micah.
My mom and I recently took the babies on a trip to homegoods just for fun. While there, I saw this adorable step stool and remembered all the fun I had/have as a short one using stools to access previously unattainable objects. My mom says I am empowering them to make trouble. Perhaps I am, but I like to think that with sufficient training, it will be a tool that will assist me in the future when I ask them to help me get stuff.
Although we are a bit sniffly and more on the tired side, we still need stuff to do to expend all the remaining extra energy (that apparently is still there given all the talking going on right now during naptime). Today we decided to visit the San Jose Rose Garden! It smelled really nice. And even though we didn’t care to touch the flowers, we enjoyed the running around so much that we rewarded mommy with a trip to Fantasia afterwards for pmt.
So much angst when socks are on. And so much relief when they are off. No wonder Justin always throws them behind his crib during nap and sleep time.
The dumplings have been falling in love with vehicles of all kinds lately. Ah-ma bought the two of them a “Cars” movie truck and Lightning McQueen from Target, and they both loved and fought over the toy so much that she went off and bought them a second one. And I know sometimes you buy two for twins and it turns out you don’t really need two, but let me tell you: they definitely each need one.
With Ah-ma’s most recent purchase, however, I decided they really only needed one. As expected, there have been numerous fights and tantrums over who gets to sit and ride in this cute little car. Sometimes I wish my mom hadn’t bought it because I would be spending a lot less time with disciplining, time-outs, and telling them to say sorry. But on the other hand, it’s a good way for them to learn how to share and wait their turn. And good news is, they’ve been getting better! They still stall, but they now know that tantruming won’t let them ride around more, and they’re more considerate of each other.
But the most important point is this: They both look super cute when they ride in that car.
Yesterday, Uncle JohnJohn came home so we all went to Capitola! It was perfect weather for the beach. Great temperature and very little wind. And, of course, dumplings loved it. No sand or water playing yet, but they were already pretty happy with the running around.
